Why are you excited for the upcoming season?

I feel that this season is going really good so far. We’ve worked extremely hard to be first in the county. I know it’s going to be hard to stay on top, but I know my team will pull through! I really love how my team gets along with each other. We all bring something special to the team and without one another we wouldn’t be the team we are now. We all have great chemistry with each other and I know we’ll go far.

Because we have a tight-knit team with good chemistry, we’re capable of anything. I feel that our season is going great so far! It’s neat to see all of the girls get better every day; especially all the freshies!

I’m excited because I think our team Is going to be good this season and we have a great group of girls. I think this season has started well, and I hope it continues this way!

What is your favorite high school memory?

My favorite high school memory would have to be going to prom my sophomore year with two black eyes, as well as being on homecoming court with four of my close friends.

Breaking the season homerun record last year. I have so much support from my team, friends, family and the community!! I’m lucky to have so much support.

My favorite high school memory is when we played Jackson Center my freshman year. It was the first game of the year and my first win and first no-hitter in the same night.

If you could meet anyone (dead or alive) who would it be and why?

Leonardo Dicaprio, because I believe he is the most attractive man to walk this planet, but I also love his acting.

It would be my grandpa Trent, because my parents always told me that I would have been really close to him, and I would love for him to know the things that my family and I have accomplished.

I would meet Aaron Craft because I love Ohio State basketball and think he’s an amazing basketball player.

What is your favorite thing about the sport you play?

My favorite thing about playing softball is how much the sport has taught me. Just from playing, I’ve learned how to have patience, trust my teammates, responsibility, leadership skills, and most definitely how to work under pressure.

My favorite thing about softball is that I learn so many life lessons from it. Softball has taught me patience, learning to trust and have faith in others, to be a leader when necessary, and most importantly, to believe in myself even when times are tough

My favorite thing about softball is pitching because it’s fun and takes a lot of hard work that pays off when you get to help your team.

What are your future plans?

I plan to go to college to get a degree in either dental hygiene or ultrasound.

My future plans are to go to a strong academic D1 or D2 college to plat softball and major in Biology. Afterword, I plan to go to med school and become an Interventional Radiologist.

I plan to go to college and become a teacher.

I feel this season is going to be a good season. We got a lot of talent in our field events.

I am very excited for the upcoming season, I’ve had a good start but I know I have my work cut out for me if I want to break Tyler Roeth’s mile record of 4 minutes and 30 seconds.

I feel like this season has gone really well considering the amount of injuries we have on the team.

What is your favorite high school memory?

High-fiving Derrek Mayse at the top of the Top Thrill Dragster.

Jesus, he seemed like a cool guy.

Hanson Gergory, the creator of the doughnut. I would love to tell him how many headaches I get trying to keep my teammates from eating them right before their races!

Jesus, for obvious reasons.

What is your favorite thing about the sport you play?

Being able to do other things besides running.

The fact that you can always get better as long as you put in the work. The best feeling is when you break your PR or win a race.

My favorite thing about track is going to meets and having the support of the team during races.

What are your future plans?

To go to the military.

Like a lot of Juniors I have no clue yet. I know II want to run in college but I’m not for sure where yet.

I plan to go to college to pursue an engineering degree and run cross-crountry.

Why are you excited for the upcoming season?

Watching the improvement from last year to this year and the style of how they play.

The returning experience of our team, their great work ethic, and positive attitudes.

It is always enjoyable to watch all the kids have so much fun playing and all the students in the crowd cheering!!

What is your favorite high school memory?

Sports, winning the regional championship to go to state senior year.

Meeting a girl from Houston who became my wife of 35 years.

I have so many favorites. I do have a fun memory that comes to mind. I was cheering at a home game and we (cheerleaders) went out to perform a floor cheer. We had no clue what cheer we were doing and we all did different ones. We just stopped and walked off the court, laughing of course!! Elaine Laughlin was my coach and I remember her just shaking her head.

If you could meet anyone (dead or alive) who would it be and why?

Jesus, I'd have a lot of questions for him.

Winston Churchill. What he was able to do for his country during their time of crisis in WWII. His leadership ability and never give up attitude is an inspiration to me.

Theresa Caputo, Long Island Medium. I find it fascinating that she can speak to the dead and would love to see if this was true. I would love to see what she had to tell me.

What is your favorite thing about the sport you coach?

Constantly having to make decisions. The comaraderie with the players and coaches.

Basketball is such a game of ebb and flow. There is constant movement and adjustment that need to be made quickly on every play.

I love it when all my cheerleaders smile and have a great time. It is awesome to see them cheer and the fans in the crowd cheering back!!

What are your future plans?

My immediate future plan is to coach the heck out of this team. My future plan is to come up with a future plan. I would like to start a basketball skills business.

To retire from teaching this year and spend more time with my grandsons.

Stay healthy and enjoy watching my kids grow.

Houston Athletic Boosters

The Houston Athletic Boosters organization plays an instrumental part in funding the athletic programs in the Hardin-Houston Local School District. The Boosters routinely spend as much as $10,000 per year or more to help our athletic department meet its needs. Because of this, "pay to play" is not part of our programs. Houston High School, through its athletic department, would like to extend its gratitude to the Houston Athletic Boosters and its members.

Your support of the concession stand and athletic booster fundraisers make it possible for the boosters to be so helpful to our school and community. Thank you for supporting the boosters. We encourage you to  work in the concession stand. Please contact Michelle Garber by sending an email to athleticboosters@hardinhouston.org or mgarber7@woh.rr.com if you would like to become an active member or help out in any way.
